So, it always happens to someone else. You know, the person on the news, or the friend of the friend. Anyway never to you. Well, it has hit home. What am I talking about? I am very carefully going into the topic of losing a job.
Terry lost his job yesturday. Amazing, yet true. After 25 years of dedicated service at the City of Ontario, he no longer is Fire Chief.
A new city Manager comes into town, and decides to start cleaning house. Now mind you, Terry has been putting in 12 hour days, working without a Deputy Fire Chief for five years. The city did not have the money to replace that position.
So, this new Manager chose Terry as his scapegoat. This manager told Terry there needed to be new leadership in the Fire Dept. So, Terry resigned. He had no choice. It was given to him, as a either, or situation. He chose to resign. Good choice. I am so proud of his integratiy. What a wonderful example of a Father, Husband, Brother and Son. I love that man.
Yesterday was very difficult for both of us, Terry is still in shock. I am angry.
With that said, there is always a siver lining with every difficulty that we endure, here on Earth. Terry and I will still have the joy of our family in our lives. Terry can relax, and finish the house. Or he can get a new job right away. We can cut corners. We can and will survive this.
I realy feel this is the only way Terry would have ever left his job. He loves Fire Fighting. However, the city of Ontario was taking advantage of him and he could not continue to work himself to the bone everyday, and live and enjoy his family. He is exhausted.
So, in closing, This is not a sad post, it is a life changing post. We will enjoy the silver, and gold lining on this life change.
Everyone is asking what they can do for us. All I can say, is keep us in your prayers. We will be fine. We are lucky we know the true meaning of life, and Our Heavenly Father will help us, and nourish us. Meanwhile, hug your loved ones, and realize that bad things can happen to loyal dedicated people. We are now the ones it has happened to .
Have a joyous day, and know that we are working through this and will come up with roses in our teeth.

The Black eye
Logan giving me a kiss for my shiner
This is at noon on Monday about 28 hours after the incident
Close up at noon on Monday

This was on sunday right after it happened. Maybe an hour later, as The first color appeared
So....about eight-thirty on Sunday morning, I was reading a book to the two little guys that live with us. Logan is three, and Alec is five in Nov. So, they were sitting on each side of me. I was reading to them, and I noticed that Logan was swinging his head side to side like an elephant. As there was an elephant in the story. Suddenly, I was struck in the right eyebrow. Tears instantly came to both my eyes, and of course, I dropped the book, and put my hands up to my face. Alac told me I dropped the book, and Logan hopped on my lap and tried to pull my hands away from my face. He asked me what was wronge. At that point, I decieded I would not be going to church, because I was sure I would have a headach. Which I did.
I got up from the couch, and walked into the kitchen where both Brandi and Terry were sitting at the table. I told them I wouldn't be going to church , were as Brandi just started laughting out loud. Real funny. Terry just stared at me, then asked me what happened. I told them both what happened, and Brandi took a picture. She took pictures the rest of the day, which explains all the pictures you are looking at.

Friday
Hi all. On Friday Terry and I went to see a movie at the 2 dollar movie. we saw Journey to the Center of the Earth. It was a fun and queikey movie. Very entertaining. Kids would love it. It was great for a 4 dollar treat for hubby and I.
Krystal is ill. She has the flue. Flue season is open. I had it on Monday, Brandi had it on Thursday, Krystal on Friday, who's next.
It is very hard to have the flue when you have small children. I remember it well. One time when I lived in Soda Springs, I had the flue so bad I could not get out of bed. I only got out of bed to change and feed Nicole. The rest of the day she spent in her crib till her Daddy got home. She was very good, and I remember that. I was amazed at her. It was like she knew she needed to play in her crib all day. Nicole was alway an amazing child.
Today, I am going to go over to Nicoles to spend the day with the kids. They are carving punkins. Should be a blast. I hope to see Ginger as well. Also, my Mom. Hope everything turns out as planned.
Have a terrific weekend everyone!
I am looking forward to Nov. 4th, as that is Windy's birthday, and My Dad's birthday. It is also election day, and I can't wait to post my choices.
Don't forget the importance of voting everyone!

busy weekend
Terry and I planned to go to the cabin to winterize everything. As we were preparing to leave, Ket called Dad, and he invited Dad to the BSU game. Well, let me just tell you that Terry just glowed with excitment. So, plans were changed, and off we went to Boise. I stayed with Nicole and kids. What a awsome pleasure for me to have this unexpected time with the grandchildren in Boise. I so enjoyed my time, as did Terry. He and Ket got home about ten thirty. Instead of spending the night with Ket and Nicole, we decided to take off for McCall right away. So, off we went!
We had lots of fun on Saturday. I washed windows, till the Windex ran out, then we put the plastic up on the walls. Terry mowed and racked one last time. Terry replaced the screen door on the sliding glass door, so no more holes in that! I took pictures, which I don't know how to post. Need Brandi's help. Saturday morning, Ket called and let Dad and I know that they would be blessing Jaren Sunday in church. So, we quickly changed our plans and off we went to Boise on Sunday. We arrived at Nicole in plenty of time to go to church. The blessing Ket gave Jaren was beautiful! I am so proud of my son in laws that they are able and honoured to give their children a blessing.
Everyone was able to come. Mom, and Terry's Mom and Dad. Brandi and Russ and kids, and Krystal and Robby and kids and Rob and Tif and kids and Windy and her son Nolan. Nick had to work.
After the blessing, we all went over to the Khounthams for lunch. Ket is the BEST cook! it was all fabulous. So, that about sums up our weekend. It was fun, and fast. Now, back to work we go.

Firewalk
So, I have to tell you about our firewalk we went to! oh my gosh, it was so much fun! So, we were invited to a Firewalk Siminar. It was interesting, and I knew Dad would love to walk on fire, so I signed us up. It was actually a cognitive class. All the things the instructor was saying was cognitive thinking skills that I teach in parenting class, and my cog class. Amazing! This was stuff I really could sink my teeth into. They started with the board between to chairs the you can break with your hand. Oh dear! I didn't think I could do that, but my neice Becky went right up and bam..she just broke it right in half. Hurray Becky! so, I thought , if Becky could break it, then surely I could break it. I went up, and looked at Becky, and bam, I hit that board...it hurt my hand, and i did not break the board. The class decided I only gave 20% intention. Well, I should say, my husband said, I only gave 20% intention. So, I concentrated really really hard, and bam i hit the board again, and it didn't hurt, and it broke into pieces! Hurray!!
So, I figured if I could and would put 100% intention on braking the board, then I could walk on fire. Ya right. I just didn't know that the fire that was burning outside, would be red hot coals when we went out. I kind of thought that the coals would be ash white, not red hot. But, NO they were red hot when we went outside to walk. The fire was raked into a ten foot pathway. and did I mention it was RED HOT COALS? So, people just started walking across this, as if it were no big deal. Go Figure. So I decided if everyone else could do it, well then I just jolly well could also, so Nik went by on his first pass to walk, and I just tagged onto him. Right after Nik got to the other side, I took off. I really didn't feel anything, until I got to the other side, then my feet were hot. I stood there and watched everyone walking across. Then Terry walked and Robert. Terry told me if I would walk again, he would be glad to take my picture! FAME! I saw my name in lights RED HOT LIGHTS and so with this pressure, I was off. I did feel a little heat on my feet, both of them, but I thought "What the heck, I just walked on red hot coals" so I thought it would be alright, after all, I didn't pay for this experience just to burn my feet off.
On the way home, I noticed my feet were getting hotter. I took off my shoes and socks, and put my bare feet up on the window of the car. It felt really good, as my feet were so hot. when i got home Brandi put oitment on my feet, and then the pain was gettin really bad. Terry went and got some buckets of cold water so I could soak my feet. Terry also gave me a pain killer. I also sat on the floor in a YING/YANG position for about an hour. This really helped with the pain. I went to bed, (did i mention that terry's feet had NO pain, or burn in them at all.) and was able to sleep with the aid of the pain killers i am sure. The next morning, I got up and was totally fine. I mean to tell you I had NO pain in my feet at all. Terry was amazed as on Saturday night, he and Brandi say blisters on all my toes, and all over the bottoms of my feet. Amazing that they were all healed. The instructor of the class asured us that if we did burn the bottom of our feet, that sitting in the YING/YANG position would heal our feet. I am a believer of that method, however, I do not believe I will ever walk on fire again. Twice was enough for me.

My Cruise!!!
Oh my gosh! We had so much FUN. It was sureal for sure. I would have to say it was like a second honeymoon for Terry and I. Time spent together was the very best part of our Cruise. I have never been so free and carefree with Terry. Time has been so short with Terry, and he is always working, or thinking about working when I am with him. So, let me tell you, to have his full attention was so wonderful. Iwill never forget the feeling I had with him. Hopefully, I will have him to myself again some day soon. As soon as we got back into town, his mind was gone, and he was engrossed in work again. I really married a workaholic. for sure.
Dr. Laura was great, she is only 5ft.3inches and weights a small 111lbs. Such a small lady. This was her first Cruise, and she did great. She had beatiful Jewlery there, that she made. She sold her pieces for 400 to 1000 dollars, and PEOPLE BOUGHT THEM!!!! I could not even believe it. The second day we were out at sea, the waters were so rough. Terry got sick, and stayed in the cabin for about 17 hours. The waters were so wonderful to watch. We had a balcony, and it was wonderful to stand out there and look at the waters, and feel the breeze and sometimes, the fierce wind in my face.
Terry took me shopping, and bought me a pair of dark jeans, black pants, a beatiful coat, and a wonderful scarf. How sweet of him! He wanted to buy me anything I wanted. Awsome! I did not get sick at all while shopping. Amazing.
We stopped at Victoria to go to the Bushart Gardens. They were so beatiful! I took lots of pictures of the flowers. As soon as I can figure out how to post them, I will they are so nice.
The cruise line had a show every night. Terry and I went to all the shows, and they were fun.
Did I mention the FOOD? My gosh, we ate all the time! Everything was so good. Anytime I chose to eat, I could. I ate well. I ate really good! Terry was much better in that area then I am. I lost all control. I don't eat out much, so I was in heaven. Terry has dinner meetings, and he goes out of town with his work, so he does eat out, anyway, that is the way I justifie it.
I sure hope that Terry and I will be able to go again some day. I would love to take the family on a Disney Family Cruise.
