Thankful for my girls

I am thankful for my health, and my strenght. I am happy with my life and the love of my life. I am grateful we have a well in our back yard, so we can keep our lawn nice and green with little cost.
Lately I have noticed that on my blog, I only had two of my families names on the stalking list. I didn't know how to change it. This morning, I noticed that someone I love changed it for me. So, thankyou whomever changed it for me.
Yesturday morning, Dad and I got in his truck to go pick up the lawn mower, so the lawn at the house could be mowed. We only got a block away, and his pager went off. There was a grass fire caused by lightning. So, off we went to the fire. I was excited, yet disappointed that my day was so interrupted. Drats! Dad put the fire out, with his department. and then off we went again, on our errand. It was almost ten when I got home with the mower. I did get the lawn mowed, and all is well. The back side of the house needs to be sprayed down. It is full of cobwebs, ect. Looks awful!. I did find something to get the hard water spots off my kitchen window. Yeah.!!!
I have today off, so I will be helping Ginger move, and seeing my Dad. I talked to my Dad on the 30th. He is looking for ward to his radiation and chemo. This all starts on the 4th of Sept.
As it turns out, he doesn't have cancer in his rectom. Yeah!!All his cancer is located in his chest and lungs. Which isn't a good thing, but at least it isn't spread all over his body.

A Beatiful Sunday

Sunday was peaceful. A wonderful day to be at church, and remember our Saviors love. After church I went to Boise. I stopped by Nicoles for a minute. Then on to see my Mom and Dad. They already had company. Rhonda and Rod were there, and Nolan came by to help Dad go buy the television he wanted. Also a couple from the church came by. They were really nice and concerned about Dad. There was lots of activity in the house. I felt like I maybe should leave. Dad said no, don't leave so I stayed. It was nice to see everyone. When Dad left with Nolan, I did leave. I wanted to get back to Nicoles home so I could go see Gingers new apartment. We did go to see it, and it is so awsome! I can really see her in this apartment. I didn't get to meet any of her roommates, but I am sure they are nice people, or Ginger won't move in. She has a nice big room, with a walk in closet. She will be very comfortable in this room. The floor plan of the apartment is very open, with valuted ceilings. It is so spacious. So, a new chapter begins in Gingers life. She told us that she works with a crew of very interesting mormans. Active and inactive. Life is so full of color. It is fun to see the charactors we draw into our lives. Always lessons to glen from everyone around us.
This morning I put on my swim suiit at fivethirty, then went to my bed, took it off and went back to sleep. Funny. I then got up at six and took a shower. I am ready for a new day. I didn't wash the cars on Saturday, so I will wash them this mornign. And the day begins with a slow bang. I didn't get much sleep last night. .........Have a great day my beatiful daughters. Please know that you are always with me in my heart, mind and prayers.

I am grateful

I don't know what to say. I am confused as to why one person has to be so troubled by illness, and others of us are passed by, with wonderful, healthy bodies, that serve us all our lives. To answer my own question, some of us humans, are mindful of our bodies, and are not risk takers. Others of us humans, are total risk takers, and live life on the extream edge of life. I also know, that if there is a lesson to learn here on Earth, and we have trouble understanding what the lesson is, then we are taught, very patiently by our Loving Father in Heaven. Over and over, till we finally get it. Another thing I know is sometimes, if we need to learn a particuare lesson, and we are blind to it, we are giver the lesson over, and over, and the lesson is learned through other children of God. Like a Father, Mother, Child, Brother, Sister, Aunt, Uncle. Whatever, even a bum in the street. There is a plan, we will live the plan. If we are faithful, we will love, and learn from all our experiences, and grow to appreciate all of Gods beatiful gifts that surround us.
I was blessed with Goodly Parents. My parents were the best parents they could be. My parents loved each of us kids, and provided us with our needs, and desires. I am thankful for the example my Mother and Father provided me, in our dailey lives. Honour, integrity, honesty, passion for life, hard working, fun, laughter.
I have truely lived a blessed live. Ever more enriched by the values, and love given by my Earthly Parents, and my Heavenly Parents.
I can not dwell on the negitive things that have happened, or that may happen. Time is to short, and the loved parents, and children in this Earthly exsitance are to precious.
Therefore, with the Cancer that has come to visit my Father, I can only continue to give him my love, support, time, joy and laughter, as he has continued to give all us, even in his great pain of ill health. I love my Father. I love my Father. I love my Father. He is in me. He is my soul, and he is strong, and good, and kind. He is full of jokes, and laughter and love. He is never failing. He will always rally the family with his continued forgiveness of all our shortcoming. He is my Hero. I strive to give back to the world, even strangers, the trust and caring that he has shown to others. My Dad is alot like my GrandFather. My GrandFather Dawson, loved everyone. His word is Gold. A Handshake was a contact. His coat was your coat. My Dad follows these same princples.
This is good. I feel ready now. I know where to go, and what to say. I can help my Father get on with living in this Cancer time of his life. I will be a part of it. I will be a cheerleader for both my parents. I will enjoy this time. I will not let the negitive emotions rule my heart. I have a whole lifetime of joy to experience yet, and this time is not to be wasted.
Thank you Nicole, Krystal, Ginger and Brandi for starting a fast. I know, that our Heavenly Father smiles upon our family. Whatever happens, is Gods will.
So, be at peace all my loving family. Please know that I am with you, and will shake the pain off like a wet dog, and get on with the loving part of life.

Lots of Fun in the Sun,

A Lot has happened since I last Blogged. Ginger got the job she was wanting at the Merriat at the Airport. She also has a apartment secured. She is awsome. It is amazing how things work out for her. She will be excellent. She started her job this morning at seventhirty. Good Luck Ginger!
Last night we all went to Boise to celebrate Robby and Krystal's anniversary and Ket's new job and Gingers birthday. We went to TJMings in down town Boise. It was so much fun. We had a very interesting meal, and desert. All was so good. We were going to go to Chuck e Cheese. I am so glad we chose not to. I mean, it would have been so much fun with the kids, however, we always have the kids with us, so this was a way nice change.
Today Brandi went to the temple, and the kids and I went to Krystals for a while. Krystal called Robby to ask if he could take Alac for a ride on the tractor. Robby came right over in the tractor, and took Noah and Alac out to the fields for a working ride. He was spreading manouer. They had a blast, and were all smiles when they got back.
We were suppose to go to the fair with the boys today, and meet Brandi over in Boise. However, Terry is busy upstairs, and I don't think it is going to happen.

Exciting Sunday

We had a very exciting Sunday. Ginger, Krystal, Noah, and I all went together to Nicoles home. We got there at 1:30. We were ahalf hour late. When Ginger and I took off, we were talking about Gingers furture and I totally forgot to get off the freeway at Krystals exit. So I had to go to the next exit and turn around and go back UGH! I was so totally mad at myself. I hate being late places. So, we were all on our way to Mandi Jo's home. She was having a party for Sabastin's fifth birthday. Such a cute boy. All her children are beatiful. She is very blessed. The party was awsome. There were so many people there. I knew very few. Rhonda and her oldest, and youngest boys were there. JayDee, Sue, and Jason and Amanda were there. Rod came with Rhonda. It was alot of fun. Mandi Jo and her husband have a really nice home.
Next, we went to see my Dad at the hospital. He was in good spirits. He seems very excited to attack this Cancer of his. He wants to just get well, and have a happy life with Mom. His and Moms memory of events in the past are amazing to me. I do not have that gift. I don't remember many details of past events.
We then went to Nicoles home. The kids played some more. Man, they never run out of steam. Nicole, Ginger and Krystal and I talked. Enjoying each others company. I got to feed Kason. I also got to give him his bottle. When we got home here in Ontario, I found that Dad was still ill. He did not have a good day, as he didn't feel good all day. He did go to work this morning, the trooper that he is. Well, off I go to start my day.

Boise River Float Trip

Our Ward went on a Boise River Float trip. We had a blast. 56 People showed up. 82 signed up. I guess that was pretty good odds. I had enough food for 100. Brandi Ginger and I made Sloppy Joe mix for 100. Brandi found a reciepe on the internet,it was so good. I went to Della's and borrowed her canner. That enabled us to cook 15 lbs of hamburger at a time. Thank you Della. Terry and I stayed at the park and prepared for the return of the River Folk. When they returned, they were soooo hungry. They were glad that there was something warm to eat, as they were so cold and hungry. The young boys ate soooo much food. I can not remember ever seeing such young people eat so much at one time. It was amazing. Anyway, the float was a huge success.
Terry and I went to see my Dad at the hospital last night after the float. It was around six pm. It was enjoyable to see him. He told us that there may be more cancer in his lungs, and he has decided to have Kemotheraphy and Radiation both. He was told by the Dr.s that he would have a longer life, if he were to have this done. I am worried, I am concerned about the kind of pain and discomfort he will be put there with these treatments. Oh how I wish that he had never gotten cancer. But wishing is for fairies and now we have to deal with realitiy. Bummers, realitiy is no fun at all. Dad was in good spirits last night. He was happy to see us. I know he must be so tired of being in the hospital. He told the doctors he wants to be out by racing time on Sunday. If the races start, and then they want to discharge him, he is just gonna stay in the hospital, cuze, he will see the races. No matter what. He is so passionate about his races.
After we saw Dad, we stopped at Nicole and Kets home. They were having dinner with Brian and Elisa and thier two girls. We were able to visit with them. Thier new baby is soooo cute. Looks like she will be a beauty just like Taylor her big sister. It was very enjoyable to see them. Of course, Kasin was his usual happy screaming self. Jesiah went down the river float with Brandi and Ginger and the Boys. He had a really good time. Kassia went to a birthday party. She is very much into birthday partys. Ket and Nicole had cooked a really great meal. even though Terry and I were not hungry, we still ate, because who could resist such good food. Nicole had made a very good desert, so of course I had that also. Terry passed on the desert. I just can't say no to good food. I love food.
We then got on the road again, and decided to stop at the world Market. Terry had never been there, and so we looked inside. Terry found a really beatiful mirror. He wants to hang it above out bed. I'm not sure it will look good there, but they will take it back if I don't like it. That is nice. I also found a BIG Hand. ....A long time a go, when I was just a girl my Mom bought me a Hand. It is a beatiful young girls hand. I have always loved it. it is make of wood. I thought it would be a wonderful thing to collect. Hands. It also reminds me of my favorite song. HIS HANDS. referring to JESUS HANDS. Anyway, I found some MAN HANDS. So I bought it.
When we finally got home, we had alot to unpack. We did it just fine. When I finally got to bed I was sooo tired. Thank goodness for my wonderful bedroom, and my wonderful new BED. It is soo comfortable.

a new day in the Mairs Home

Today went really fast. I got five doors refinished with Polyurathan. They look really nice. After I got that done, Brandi had fixed a really yummy Greek Salad with feta cheese and Flank Steak. I enjoyed eating lunch sooo much. She is amazing at cooking. Ginger cleaned all three bathrooms today. That was nice, as they were all pretty dirty. I think I am just a tad bit spoiled with all the help around the house. Thank you Ginger!!
I have noticed lately that Ginger doesn't talk to me as much as she use to on the phone. Our phone calles use to be so long and coool. Now I talk to her, and she just doesn't say much to me. She just looks at me, and does n't respond with a conversation voice. She thinks her eyes talk to me, but I miss her voice. Maybe I should try calling her. .....Hey! cChicka!!!!.......
STILL NO ANSWER.
So, tonight I went to our Fire Assocates Meeting. I am so glad I went . I learned alot, and I want to be more involved. I want to be called when there is a need. Last time there was a need,(Baker Plant Fire) I was not called. I felt left out.
I want to get going on the Blue Room. I told the two girls today. Ginger went up and started working on it. Brandi was busy preparing lunch. Dad has tommorrow off. We'll see what can happen with his help.

Dad has cancer

I went to Boise this morning, to have a root canal. That was at eight-thirty. After, I went to the hospital to see Dad. I walked into his room, just as the Dr. was telling Mom and Dad that Dad had cancer in his right upper lung. There is a spot on his lung, and now, Dad and Mom need to decide what to do about it. I stayed with Mom all day. She was having a tough time of it. I hope that my being there was a comfort. When I first arrived at the Hospital, I ran into Keith, Vikki's husband. I thought he was there for Dad, but come to find out, he was there because Vikki had surgery this morning. She didn't tell anyone, because she didn't want anyone to worry about her. She had a repair to her blatter. She came through that surgery fine. I did see her, and she looks great. She will have to work really hard to stay down. It takes a while to recover from a surgery such as that. Dad had his lung collapse during the night last night. That was caused by the biopsy the Dr. took of his lung. The doctors thought that might happen. He went into surgery this morning to have that repaired. They just put a tube into his lung, and reinflat it. It was a simple procedure, and it went well. However, tonight, all the numing has worn off and he was in pain when I left.
The cancer Dr. was in to see Dad just before I left tonight. He just is not comfortable to remove the c ancer from Dad's lung. With his lungs already so damaged, he just is not confident with the results that he would get. He believes Dad would be on a respatory machine the rest of his life, if he were to do the removal of the cancer. He suggested that Dad talk to his lung doctor, and perhaps he could have radiation on his cancer. He suggested that Dad would not lose as much of his lung if he were to do that instead of removeal of the cancer. The last option, would be to do nothing. Just wait it out.
After I spent the day with Dad and Mom, I took off and thought I would stop by to see Nicole and kids. As I was driving, I got a really cool phone call from Ket. He had called to tell me he has the JOB he went on the interview for!!!!! I got so excited for him. He has worked so hard , and he really is ready for the Boss job of a Brand New Hotel!!!!!!! It all sounds so exciting.!One of the benifits of this new job is I know that they will be in the Boise area ! I love having all my family close by. Way to go KET we are all really PROUD of you.

Dads in the hospital

Dad in in the hospital with phenamonya. I have no idea how to spell it. Hope you get it. Anyway, they the doctors saw a mass on his lungs, and called him at home and told him to go to the hospital. They are doing all kinds of tests. His breathing has been getting very bad the last couple of weeks . Dad has been getting very concerned.
Mom will keep me updated as the test results come back. Please remember him in your prayers.
Everyone here in the Mairs household is well and happy. Ginger is babysitting for Brandi today, and she is exhuasted. I am home right now, for my break from work. Ginger fed me, and the kids, then did the dishes and cleanedup the kids, and ran after them, and everything that Brandi does all day long. I am sure Ginger has a better understanding for what Brandi goes through dailey with her little family. I am sure that Brandi is grateful that she has a loving family to help her once in a while. God Bless Ginger.
Well, I have to get back to work now. It is time. I just don't know if I can do this for nine more years. I mean have a job. I did promise Terry I would work for nine years straight.

Friday, August 10

today is the BIG day

Today started out Bright and Early. Brandi jumped on Ginger, and pleaded with her to pick up pine cones with her. It sounded nice from my room. Listening to the two girls giggleing, and teasing each other. Brandi needed the pinecones picked up, as she is mowing the lawn this morning. Ginger not only helped her, she also washed my windows downstairs!!!! There was a HUGE storm last night, and it messed up all my wonderful windows. I was complaining about it outloud, and wham.......Ginger was right on it.
Krystal's shower is today, and Ginger is prepared for sure. It will be so much fun. I am sure it will be a Blast.
Well, I best get busy myself. I don't need to be sitting here, when I should be working with the girls, instead of reaping the benifits.

playing catch up

Alot has happened since I last blogged. I had my root canal on Wensday. I went to Dr. Blazer in Boise. Again I trusted him, because he asked me to. Again, he used no deadner, and it didn't hurt at all. It was great. He is a great root canal guy. Of course that is all he does, so he knows his bussiness.
I graduated my Parenting Class on Monday. It was a hard one to get through, as I was in so much pain. It was awful. The Graduation itself was wonderful. Alot of my students had thier children and parents come. Such joy in the faces of the children that got to come see thier Fathers. I am grateful for the oppurtunity to teach such useful skills to these Fathers. The children of incarcerated Fathers have a hard row to tow.
Today, I am feeling bad. My mouth , or I should say my jaw, cheek, and teeth hurt. Not to bad, but just bad enough to make me uncomfortable.
Brandi recieved the divorce papers back from Wally today. It is amazing to me,how fast this has all taken place. Wally is truely not the man I thought he was. I am sad for Brandi, yet happy she has found out his true colors this early, while the kids are young. I am proud that Brandi is a strong dedicated Mother. She has put her concerns aside, for the Benifit of her Children. I have not seen a more dedicated Mother before. She is surely the Nurtureing Woman Heavenly Father intended for her to be. These Boys are so fortunate to have been born to her.
Alac is the most amazing little three year old. He is so smart, and happy. Full of energy and love of life. He seems untouched at times, to the events around him. Logan however, is very sensitive to his Mothers moods. He is very clingy, and wants to see, and be with his mom all time. That is why Brandi is not sleeping well. At least one of the reasons. Logan goes to sleep in his room, in his bed, but midnight, he is with his Mother.

End of the day Blessings

Last night I was in so much pain, I asked my loving husband for a Presthood Blessing. He called his brother, and I recieved a blessing. The power of the presthood is wonderful. I am so grateful to have the Gospel Blessings and Knowledge in my home. I was able to fall asleep last night. Thank you Terry and Robert. Brandi put me on a schedule this morning. She wrote it on the white board, so I could keep track. Bless her. I get so confused with all this medicine I'm taking.
One of the problems is, I think I'm much better, so I forget to take my pain medicine, and then bam, I am full of pain. This pain is so hurtful. It is in my ear, jaw, neck.
Terry went to the planning session at church. The plan is on the way for the Big Float down the Boise River on Aug. 18. We will meet at the church at 9:30am and then car pool to Ann Morrison Park. From there we will car pool to Barber Park. It will be great fun. I will stay at Ann Morrison Park and prepare for the rafters to get down the river. After they get back, we will have a simple picnic. it will be sandwiches, chips and water to drink. Everyone is instucted to bring a giant size candy bar. I will take the candy bars, and put them in a cooler. then everyone will get one, at the end of the river float. A simple, yet fun activity. Krystal, Nicole and family are coming. would you and family like to come? I of course am staying off the river, so you could stay with me.

Logans Brithday party

Today was a really fun day. We all got together and had a very nice lunch for Logans birthday. Ket made hamburgers, and hotdogs. Brandi made a really yummy strawberry prezel salad. Ginger made fruits on a spear. They were a really big hit. We also got some yummy corn on the cob from Purduems Fruit Stand. They were so sweet. Krystal brought chips and grapes. Nicole bought Logan a ice cream cake. Everyone was with us all day, and we had a great time. The kids helped PaPa rake the back yard, so we could put up the Jump House.
Nicole and Ket and kids left around four in the afternoon. My mouth felt pretty good all day, till around three. By five, I was in masive pain. I asked Terry for a Priesthood Blessing. He called Robert, his brother. He came over, and they gave me a blessing. I am sure I will have a good nights sleep tonight. After thinking I was all done with the Vidocen, now I am taking them again. Man, I hate pain. I do not do well with pain at all.
Well, thank you all for coming to the party today. I know that Brandi and Logan really needed the support. I pray some comfort will come to this choice family. We love you so much Brandi. and we will never abandon you.

Pain all day long

So, last week I had a little tooth ache. I should know, that I do not get little toothaches. I always get BIG problems in my mouth. So, on Wensday, I went to Dr. Wettstein and got x-rays. Alas, one of my very old rootcanels has woken from the sleep, like a dragon spitting fire. My mouth, jaw, ear, and teeth all hurt. I called Dr. Blazer in Boise and he can see me on Wensday to reroot the root canel. Meanwhile, I am on Vicoden. One tablet every two hours until the anibiotic kicks in, and the absest calms down. This has caused alot of problems for my stomache. So, you can see why this in titled Pain all day long. I have spent the whole day in bed. The Vicoden causes me to sleep alot. Just can't live without it right now.
Nicole and family just arrived. They are going to the fair, and then spending the nite with us.
We are going to celebrate Logans Birthday on Saturday. I know it will be a bitter sweet celebration as Kulani won't be here. He will be missed.
My sweet husband bought a flat screen tv for the wall in our bedroom. We have never had a tv in our room before. I'm not sure I will like it. Yet, I am excited non the less.
My Mom is doing really great. When I talk to her, her voice is uplifting, and full of energy. We are so blessed that she recovered so quickly.
Krystal is nesting. She is so cute at eight months pregnate. She is such a loving mommy. It will be wonderful to have another baby in the family. Another girl so Kassia is not the only girl. Hurray!!! Two girl cousins.

Wednesday, August 1

Alright Already...

I've been neglectful with my blog. And happily my mother is doing really well. She was released from the hospital after only three days, and after a week of recovery at home, she is bouncing back to her regular routine. Rhonda and Vikki have arranged to meet her on the Boise river at one o'clock on Tuesdays and Thursdays, just for girl talk. I've talked to mom, and I know she really enjoys that time, as she loves the water and the company of her daugters

Last Thursday, terry and I went rafting down the salmon river, with Beth and Scott Skinner. We had an awesome time, it was very relaxing. Thursday night we went to the cabin, and all day Friday I read Harry Potter, and dad cut down trees and worked around the cabin. Saturday, I read Harry Potter, and dad worked in the cabin. We left around 3 in the afternoon to come home. It is beautiful up there and cool. When we got back to Ontario, it was very VERY hot! When we were driving home on Saturday, we stopped at Last Chance Campground, and we found a beautiful stream, and I got out to take pictures for my blog, and wouldn't you know it, MY card was still in my computer at home!!! Otherwise you'd have beautiful pictures to look at.

The fair is here in town, and dad has been gone this week working at the fair. I'm trying to close out my parenting class at work, so I've been working quite a bit. Two days ago, I had a toothache on the right side of my face, and I ignored it, thinking it would go away. Today I finally broke down, and went to the dentist. My old root canal is absest. I am on antibiotics, and they're going to have to re-do the root canal and clean it out again. OUCH!! Yesterday, last Sunday, we cleaned out Ginger's old room, to get it ready for Ginger to move back in. Ginger was finished with Aunt Della's on Tuesday, and is now back at home with us. Aunt Della is doing really well, and was very ready for Ginger to leave. She is a very independent lady, and I admire her. Brandi and the boys are at Roaring Springs, and at a friends house in Boise today. Brandi is a strong and beautiful woman, and a good mother for her boys, her face just lights up with joy just to talk and listen with them.

Well, I guess that is it for tonight. I've caught y'all up. Sorry no pictures for you this time, but my card is back in the camera, so you'll definitely get some great pictures next time. With love TUTU.
